June Military Honors
"The Longest Day"
This week marks the **82nd Anniversary of D-Day (June 6, 1944)**, Operation Overlord. We honor the brave Allied forces who stormed the beaches of Normandy, establishing the crucial foothold that led to the liberation of Western Europe.
June is also a massive milestone month for our sea services, celebrating the historic triumph at the **Battle of Midway** and the official birthdays of both the **U.S. Army** and the **U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary**.
June Military Remembrance
June 3-7: Battle of Midway Anniversary (1942) – The turning point of the Pacific War.
June 6: D-Day / Operation Overlord Anniversary (1944).
June 14: Flag Day & The **U.S. Army's 251st Birthday** (Est. 1775).
June 23: U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Birthday (Est. 1939).
